The table has a blade that spends forward and is used to cut wood.

What I Made

Today, I used a table to saw to cut a piece of wood.

CNC Router/Machine

Do:

Run the dust collector
Vacuum after use
Wear ear protection
Wear safety glasses
Secure your material ( with screws or clamps)
Design around your screws

The CNC router is a computer-controlled cutting machine . CAD- Make the design CAM- material and tools CNC- Control Box. It also has a x-axis, y-axis, z-axis. You have to zero the machine so the cnc router can know exactly where you placed the wood.

What I Made:

Today, I carved my name in a piece of wood using a CNC Machine.

Planer Saw

Do:

Wear ear protection
Wear safety glasses
Adjust the cutting thickness to within 1/16" of the material thickness prior to cutting
Unplug when finished
Attach the vacuum before use

Don't:

Put fingers near the opening
Pass any material but wood through the planer
Pass wood with nails/screws through the planer

The planer saw can smooth a surface and can get rid of stains on wood. You can also use the depth stop to set a depth that you don't want to go beyond. The planer saw will produce a lot of dust so there is a dust collector that helps with the cleanup.

What I Made:

Today, I cut down my piece of wood so that it would have a width of 4/8.

Miter Saw

Do:

Wear safety glasses
Firmly secure your hand outside of the hand placement line and up against the fence
Vacuum after use
Unplug the saw( In the classroom) after use
Reduce exposure to blade

Don't:

Touch or manually move the blade guard
Cut material that requires your hand to be inside of the hand placement line ( material is too short for this application)
Measure while material is on the saw

A miter saw is a tool that allows you to cut pieces of wood at a variety of angles and lengths.

What I Made:

Today , I cut pieces of wood that were 4 1/2 inches and 9 inches.

Biscuit Joiner

Do:

Wear safety glasses
Make sure it is set for the appropriate size of biscuit
Make sure you set the height in the middle of the material
Mark both sides of the material
Clamp a block in front off material each time.

Don't:

Put your fingers near the bade when it is pugged in.
Assume the blade won't come out of the material.

The biscuit joiner is used to join/ cut holes into pieces of wood to combine them by using a biscuit piece .

What I Made:

Orbital Sander

Do:

Wear safety googles
When not using the sander place it on the ground instead of the table .
Keep your hand away from the sanding disc when on the tool.
Keep the sander flat and constantly moving as you work.
Use a vacuum or wipes to clean up dust.

Don't:

Apply a lot of pressure on the tool when working.
Avoid sanding too fast or too slow.
Don't tilt the sander.

With the vibrations in tiny circles, the random orbital sander is used for ultra-smooth sanding. It can be used on wood, plastic or for metal working.

What I Made:

Wood Stain:

The more layers you add the more solid the colors will look. When applying the stain to the wood don't go against the grain go with the grain. We used stain instead of paint so we don't completely cover the natural designs on the wood. The stain allows you still add color to your wood without covering the natural print. When staining your wood make sure to wear safety gloves so that you don't stain your hands.

Box Is Finished

Throughout this process, I learned how to use the table saw, miter saw, biscuit joiner, CNC machine, orbital sander, and a planer. This project taught me to be more responsible when handling various tools so that I don't harm myself or others. I learned not to be discouraged when something goes wrong and instead think of creative ways to fix or improve what you've already started. Doing this project allowed me to be able to practice using tools that can be used in everyday life and when creating different projects. When creating this box I was able to use mathematical knowledge and creative thinking to create an amazing product.

Lantern Project Intro

Today, We learned that we will be doing a lantern project we will be learning how to use circuits, color addition, math, coding, digital fabrication, and art.

To create this project we will complete various tasks in order to create a successful and creative project. This paper will be the stamp sheet for when we've completed each tasks.

Soldered Neopixel

Today, I soldered wires to a neopixel strip.

RGB LED Stoplight

Today, we used Arduino to create a stoplight. We worked to fix the code so that we could create a color combination of red, green, and yellow just like a street stoplight and in the same order. I have uploaded a video of the streetlight color combo.

Soldered Arduino

I soldered the wires to the neopixel strip, then we connected it to the mother board, then connected the motherboard to the computer. I used Arduino to create a color combination of blue, red, and more colors. I have uploaded a video of the color combo.

Lit Lamp Light/Window Light

Brief

Today, we learned that we will be making a colorful desktop light using acrylic which is where the design will lay , the wood will create a base that the design will sit on , and a neopixel strip will create a color combo on the acrylic that will allow the design to light up. The light will display our designs using Inkscape.

I like this piece because it shows a beautiful mandala flower. These flowers have very beautiful meanings to them and this could be a very controversial topic.

This piece is nice because It can be a good way to incorporate your name around your house. Also, most names have meanings to them so this can be a great way so showcase that.

This is a great way to show off your favorite animal or even put someone's favorite animal on here and give to to them as a gift. Animals mean alot to some people

I enjoyed looking at this piece because it reminded me of how much I love to travel and see the world. There are so many beautiful country's and states that I plan to visit in the future . This can also be a great opportunity to spend time boding with family.

I think It would be a good idea to show an instrument you play or a talent that you are good at. Since I'm in orchestra and I play the cello this can be a great way to let people know this.

I believe that putting a quote around your house can be a great way to keep you motivated through tough times. Sometimes just seeing your favorite quote can help you get through the day.

Idea Development

I decided to create a mandala lit lamp light. I wanted to create this piece because I love the meaning behind these flowers and what they represent. These flowers represent empathy, love, charm, passion, development, and hope. The flower involves many complex patterns and circles that overlap to create a beautiful design.
