Abstraction is when art is made in a way that has less detail, and has more shapes than an actual item. People started using abstraction in Modernist art with Impressionism which introduced abstraction in paintings. This compares to how other cultures use abstraction where some cultures like African art uses abstraction to show stories. Abstraction art is also used in paintings in African art by making a lot of shapes with different colors. Abstraction could be related to science or math because abstraction uses shapes like how there are different shapes in math. Data can be used to create abstract art by showing certain data with art, such as making an artwork with colors that correspond to data. I think I like to work in a more personally expressive way.
Borax is a white, powdery substance made of Sodium, Hydrogen, Boron, and Oxygen. I use hot water to dissolve the Borax because the higher the temperature of the water, the easier the Borax will dissolve and will supersaturate the mixture to help grow the crystal. As the water cools, the Borax will precipitate out of the water to even the saturation level. My 3D sculpture is dynamic because it goes into two spirals which both flow into each other.
1. What have you been taught about in art this year that relates to other classes?
2. What have you done this year so far that demonstrates you understand Principles of Design and Elements of Art?
3. How do you experiment with different possibilities in your planning and process and how can you show your process?
4. What famous/historic art have you learned about so far?
I have been taught about how mandalas were related to religions, which is connected to world history. I have made an electron configuration mandalas, which has color, texture, and pattern. I can experiment with different possibilities in my planning and process by making different ideas, and incorporate the ideas in my experiment. I have learned about mandalas, which is incorporated in different religions, which signifies certain aspects of the religions.
Electron configuration mandalas integrated STEAM by using science by making the electron configurations, we used engineering by making the design, we used art by drawing on the designs and decorating them, and we use math by creating circles. The main ideas I used from each class was designing mandalas in art class and by using the information we knew about science to make the electron configurations. Mandalas help me create new perspectives by showing me a new form of artwork. Our work was successful because we were able to create the electron configuration mandala, and the design worked well. If I were the teacher, I would show examples from the previous year so the students will know what the final product will look like.
Another use for mandalas could be a spiritual guidance tool. The mandala is used to focus the mind, religious training, and guide a meditating person to spiritual healing and enlightenment. Mandalas is related to world civilizations because it is a representation of the universe and a guide on the path to enlightenment. The principles of design that I see are variety, repetition, and unity. You could show Mandala in molecules with the electricity levels.
AI could benefit art by giving inspiration for others. AI can generate something that combines two different things and create something new that no one has created before. This is related to Computer Science or Software Engineering. You will have to code a program that will go through many pictures which will create the piece of art.
Art is something that involves creativity. Art can be in forms of paintings, sculptures, music, dance, etc. Subjects that can be art are science, history, literature, music, engineering, or photography. In these subjects, you can create things like poems in literature, songs in music, inventions with engineering. People can create many different things in many different genres. Different forms of art can be favored for different kinds of people.
Only one person can be using the bandsaw at once.

Mix the wood putty well.
Make sure to fill everything in what you are filling.
Don't get it onto your clothes.
Don't eat it.
Don't leave it to dry on the stick and clean up after.
Wood putty is used to fill in gaps and holes in wood. Wood putty is made with fine wood dust, and wood glue.
AP World History Reflection Answers:
The neolithic revolution led to injustices within religions, social classes, and between genders in many ways. One way for injustices within religions is that some rulers or emperors kills/tortured people that they didn’t like or because of their religion. One example of Rome is where Nero persecuted Christian people. One way for social classes is the caste system in Hinduism. The caste system is a social class system where you can’t move from one level. Lighter skinned Aryans were higher class and darker skinned Indians were lower. At the top of the caste system were priests, and it was said that women couldn’t be priests, so you could only be at the top of the caste system if you were a male priest.
One example of an early neolithic technology is granary which is where they would store their grains in where it is a cool and controlled environment. The granary would protect the grain from insects, moisture, to preserve the food for longer, etc. One early neolithic invention is agriculture. Agriculture is what let people stay in one place and to develop more. We were able to advance into civilizations, art, architecture, culture and religion. If we stayed in the Paleolithic Era, most things that we have right now wouldn’t be invented or exist.
The first civilizations had a production of different agricultural productions, and they could trade their goods together. One trade route is the Silk Road Where there were trade routes that went all around the civilizations, and connected to China. China produced all of their own goods, so everything was unique and everyone wanted to have the goods. The Silk Road was made for trade with China. There were merchants going on the trade routes which spread their religion across different civilizations and area. One example are the Muslim merchants from North Africa trades in the region which spread Islam.
Centralized governments are governments that have one unit ruling everything. They have power over decisions, strategies, goals and objectives. Decentralized governments are governments where the ruling power transfers from a high level to a lower level. It is where several units are able to make autonomous decisions, this can make things faster than a centralized governments. An example of a centralized government was the dictatorship in the Qin Dynasty. Qin Shi Huang was a dictator and created the Qin Dynasty, he had all of the ruling power. An example of a decentralized government is Greece. Greece had a democracy where the citizens would vote on laws or proposals to war.
One significant term that I should remember is anti-semitism. Anti-semitism is a hatred towards Jews. Two other terms that I should remember are monotheistic and polytheistic. Monotheistic is the belief of one god, and polytheistic is the belief of multiple gods. Another term is codification which is a set of written rules or laws. Another term is bureaucracy which is a hierarchical organizational structure characterized by a system of rules. One final term that I should remember is the Neolithic Revolution or Agricultural Revolution which is when the hunter-gather people started settling down and doing agriculture. This allowed people to build civilizations, make cultures etc.
Today in class, we finalized our play by creating the last scene. We also did a table performance to go over the play to see if everything is good.
Today we worked on the script for the play that we will do. We made our process of making the scenes, and the dialog for some of the scenes.
Today in class, we talked about the plot diagram. We made a plot diagram for the play that we will make. The play that we will make is about an ancient civilization which is ancient Greece, it is about the fight between Athens and Sparta.
Today we worked on our "Shaping the World" assignment in our groups. We chose our ancient civilizations and worked on details in them. We then talked about how we were going to make our play.
My group signed our contract and made our group norms.
I can apply useful list methods to alter and access information about a list.
In this code, it asks an input for a name and stores the name into a list. It repeats this multiple times and keeps adding the names to the same list.
I can explain the characteristics of a list.
I can use lists to store and recall information.
A list is a heterogenous, mutable data type that stores an ordered sequence of things. It is used in brackets. They are mutable which means you can change the values in a list.
I can create and store information in tuples.
I can explain how to use Tuples
To use tuples, you have to first put the name of the tuple(ex. my_tuple = ). Then you will put the list of tuples in parameters(parenthesis)(ex. (0, 1, 2, "hi", 4, 5))
For this project, I had to make a practice create task. In this project, you would have to remember the food items that were in the picnic which were shown.
My initial exam was about parameters and functions. I had to use my knowledge in computer science as well as critical thinking skills. Something that I could have done to be more prepared was to review functions and parameters more.
I can explain the purpose of returning a value from a function by the end of class.
The purpose of returning a value from a function is to store the return value, you will be able to use the print() function to print the value.
In the function, it converts all of the feet to inches, then adds all of the inches together. Then, it converts all of the inches to centimeters, then converts the centimeters to meters. When you call the function, you have to give the (feet, inches) values to multiply which will give you the feet and inches to meters conversion.
I can define functions that use multiple parameters and use print statements as outputs.
I can understand how to call functions
I can understand how to make functions
I was able to make functions, and was able to call them while also changing the value of x when calling them.
