Brief: The goal is to create a bowl inspired by kinetic sculptures with either the laser cutter or scroll saw. The theme of this project is growth, when I think of growth I think of change, nature, transformation, and flowers. The due date is April 19 before space is the new place.

Some challenges I faced while making my kinetic structure was having to adapt to the interface of Onshape. I picked the Zinnia flower, because I liked the color and the shape of the flower. Zinnia’s symbolize friendship, endurance, and daily remembrance. When designing my scroll saw bowl, I tried to take key aspects of the flower’s design to use in my design. For example, I used the center of the flower as the bottom of my bowl, and the circles around the outside of the center represent the petals. My creation relates to Earth Day and Space is the New Place because of the aspects of growth, like the layers and the dome-like effect. My chosen medium was plywood, and I used the laser cutter.

My idea is to make a dry erase marker and pencil holder that can magnet on to my moms white board. I'm also going to put her name on it to it to add in the name plate idea.
