Olivia Pearson

About Me....

My name is Olivia Pearson, I was born in Alexandria, Virginia on June 7, 2005. I lived in Virginia until I was a little older than 1, then my parents decided to move down to Atlanta. I have a brother, Adrian, who is two years younger than me. Even though he is the most stubborn person I've ever known, we are still super close.

Since the 2020 pandemic, I have gotten really into cars and Formula 1 racing. In my free time, I work on restoring a 1970 Honda CT 70 with my Dad. I've also worked on the car I drive now, a 2001 Subaru Forester. In addition to mechanics, I enjoy crafting such as sewing and mixed media art. Fashion interests me, so I taught myself how to use a sewing machine to alter my clothes. In middle school, three of my friends and I made a romper with an a-line skirt for Beta Convention.

Over my junior year summer, I participated in the Governors Honors Program for Mechanical Design. I spent four weeks with other engineering majors that are experts in Computer Science, Mechanical and Electrical, and Mechanical Design. In class, we had to form groups and use the engineering design process to innovate a solution to a problem.

I enjoy being a well-rounded person, so not only do I focus on my academics, but I dance outside of school. I've been dancing at the Decatur School of Ballet since I was 7. I started with Ballet and since I have experimented with styles such as Tap and Hip Hop but I stuck with Modern, Jazz and Ballet.

As a senior, I am participating in dual enrollment at Georgia State Clarkston Campus. This is a way to earn college credits while still being a high school student.

Goals...

When I started eighth grade, I chose to take an engineering class. I did not think I would enjoy it as much as I did. I went into high school with engineering as my pathway. When I graduate high school, I want to major in mechanical engineering. More specifically, automotive engineering since discovering Formula 1

After college, I want to work on making an impact on the world. I want to be able to help people in any way possible, even better if I get to help people doing what I enjoy.
