AP Language Essay 1

For my first essay for AP Language, I compared and contrasted Frederick Douglass and Malcolm X's views on education. My thesis was, "Although both Malcolm X and Fredrick Douglass’s essays are both valid, Douglass’s essay has more value to it due to the extent of the delivery and the use of both of their arguments."  Writing this essay, I learned the importance of a defensible thesis, how to select specific evidence, and the significance of commentary.
