ChemVAS

ChemVAS typography

I learned how to use digital art to create a canvas concluding of both art and chemistry. In this canvas, we used images from art and chemistry to fill out the word ChemVAS (chemistry and visual arts) with designs of digital art around it.

All elemental!

In this task, we were given a element off of the periodic table and told to make a piece of art reflecting that element in some way, shape, or form. On my piece of art, I made a basic setting of the outdoors. My element is Silicon and silicon can mostly be found in nature, including things like rocks/boulders, trees, and soil, all of which can be found near the bottom half of my picture.

My Favorite Things.

On my ‘My Favorite Things’ clay project, I included (from top left, top right, bottom left, and bottom right) a shoe that represents my love for collecting shoes, a baseball which represents my love for the game and sports in general, a dumbbell to show my love for working out and lifting, and a music symbol because I love listening to music whenever I can. I had a lot of trouble painting, however, most of my designs were not as difficult to make. In the process of making my clay, I wanted to include both my favorite things and the things that I do the most throughout the week.

Kristian Budd Alston - Deeply Rooted

Deeply rooted

Deeply rooted was our 10th grade project that was focused throughout the second quarter of the semester. This project looked for the answers in which symbols could possibly reflect our cultures and the differences and similarities between them. We researched symbols which were used around the world and came up with our own symbols that reflect our modern lives. In Art class we created hand made paper and Borax crystals which we used to make symbols.
