Service Learning/Volunteer Hours

What does it mean to volunteer? Why would Drew require you to volunteer for 100 hours during your high school career?

The answer to this has changed due to Covid since now Drew only requires 40 hours to graduate and 100 to get a cord. However, I decided that I wanted to do as much community service as possible to get experience and to help others. I completed my 100 hours all in senior year. Below are some of the organizations that I worked for.

To answer the question, to volunteer means to give back to the community and to learn about others. That's the reason why I do it. Drew most likely requires the 40 community service hours to help students better understand their community and to help give back. It's also a great learning experience as well. I learned a lot about myself and my community through service. I was able to humble myself I feel as well.
