Our project is related to Picasso’s Guernica because it takes the shape of a part of Guernica. Cubism is used in our stylistic paintings in that the drawings are separated with many shapes and skewed perspectives. He used a monochromatic color palette of black and grays, which we incorporated into our artwork. Picasso used a variety of lines, including organic, straight, and lines of different shades and thicknesses. He used them to separate colors, organize his art, and make specific parts stand out. He used shapes to draw bodies but still managed to illustrate that it was a body he painted. Our artwork uses the same methods he used. We used lines to separate and pull together objects that we painted, and make certain parts pop. We also used shapes to draw characters and changed the proportions of their faces to exaggerate their expressions and help the viewer read their emotions. This is another method Picasso used in Guernica.
