9th Grade Assignments

Math Assignment #1 - "Solving Inequalities Homework Packet"

1) I chose to add this piece of work to my portfolio because it was a packet full of material that I found particularly challenging, and I wanted to showcase the fact that I still completed it (despite how challenging it was).

2) I believe some strengths I showed was what I knew from solving Linear equalities and bringing that into learning how to solve linear inequalities.

3) Honestly, I think the entire packet proved to be an opportunity for improvement. I think that because the packet was full of material for me to practice on and with practice comes improvement.

4) This relates to a few of the standards in Unit 2 ("Reasoning with Linear Equations and Inequalities").

5) As I mentioned in the first bullet, I would like my teacher to know that the Algebra 1 packet (at the time we got it) proved to be super challenging, but I'm grateful we got a full packet on it for me to practice in and that we were able to go over the quiz about it.

Math Assignment #2 - "Unit 2 Study Guide"

1) I chose this piece of work because the Unit 2 unit test was really important for me to do a good job on. I also wanted to show the first page of the packet because I was proud in my ability to get through the first page as easily as I did.

2) I believe some strengths I showed was using what I knew about the problems to my benefit in order to solve them as fast as I did.

3) I think some opportunities for improvement were the IXLs we got on the material and taking the test on the entire unit.

4) This relates to all of the standards in Unit 2 because it was a study guide for the Unit 2 test.

5) What I want my teacher to know is that I'm so grateful we got to use the study guide during the test.

Math Assignment #3 - "Week 13 Written Homework"

1) I chose this piece of work because I think it's great example of me showing my work and showing my process of solving problems.

2) I think some strengths I showed was using all of the space on the paper deliberately and writing out all of my work to help my thinking. I also think it helps the teacher if they need to correct me and figure out what I did wrong.

3) I think some opportunities for improvement were getting more 12 questioned homework worksheets. I think they were really helpful in allowing me to improve in showing my work (even for problems I found easy).

4) This relates to a few standards in Unit 2 because it deals with solving linear equations and in-equalities, but it also touches a little on Unit 1 materials like quantities and expressions.

5) What I want my teacher to know about this piece of work is that I struggled with some of it, but I was ultimately able to figure it out. Also, that having to show all of my work was really helpful.

Solving Equations Pop Quiz

With my 100,  this work represents my ability to solve equations. It's a pop quiz of the main topics from solving equations.

I chose this work because I'm proud of getting every question right on a pop quiz. I wasn't particularly struggling with this topic, but I was still happy to get a good score on the topic.

One way I think I could improve this work is by trusting myself more. While I did get an 100 on the quiz, I had the habit of doubting my answers and my work that got me there. Ultimately, I'm glad I could trust myself and do my best.

Multiple Representations of Functions Pop Quiz

This work represents my abilities when it comes to functions. It's a topic that I don't really have that much confidence in because seeing
