What do you hope to accomplish? What would you like to do for a career? How do you plan on accomplishing these goals? Will you attend college to get there?
I hope to be successful in life.I would like to be an engineer or work in the real estate field.I would attend college to become a doctor but not for real estate if I choose to do so because t is not required.
When I first walked into Drew as a freshman, I was fresh out of a long period of isolation. COVID had shut the world down, and with it, a part of me. I struggled with anxiety, unsure how to connect, how to speak up, or even how to find my place in a school I had barely seen outside of a screen. For a while, I kept to myself—just trying to survive each day and make it to the next.
But Drew wasn’t just any school—it felt like a second home. Slowly, I began to see how the teachers, staff, and students looked out for one another like family. That sense of care and community was what gave me the confidence to push myself out of my comfort zone.
Joining track and field was my first big step. It taught me discipline, how to show up even when I was tired, and how to believe in my own potential. Around the same time, I joined BOND (Brothers of a New Direction), and that group helped me find my voice, my identity, and my responsibility as a young Black man in today’s world.
Now, I’m not the same quiet kid who walked into Drew years ago. I’ve grown into someone with purpose. I want to study engineering and cybersecurity, not just because I love technology, but because I’ve learned the power of leadership and being a part of something bigger than myself.
Drew didn’t just prepare me for college or a career—it helped shape the person I’m becoming. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.
