Today we learned how to code and wire a LED stop light using rasberry Pico hardware
The bumper is baisically a selaniod attched to a wooden base which nails are placed through to add space between the board and the copper sheet above which is fired when the curciut connection is closed by the metal ball
The launcher is used to launch the ball into play of the game it has springs at the base so when pulled back the force created give the ball a big push
the ball return acts as a count of how many times you lost or the ball goes back to the launcher and the servo is coded to spin constantly this is added to make the game a bit more difficult spin so that when hit the ball rolls in that direction
Our flippers are kicked by selaniods that we coded wich keep the ball in motion throughout playing
our score board is intergrated with our pinball machine components such as the targets and the ball return which change things such as the Ball count and the overall score. The neopixels function with our targets which turn on when hit.
In class we took our breakout board and coded it to make the LED's go in a circle and the serial monitor helped with errors telling you what was wrong with the code each time and was very helpful
All of our Pinball machine components works because of the Power box we installed and our arduino we coded because these two thinngs every component operates smoothly for example our targets, servo and bumper made the game more interesting and fun creating challenges for the player changing the balls direction every play.also the flipper components kick the ball into play and generally start the game.
After combining the information I've gained from the pinball museum and further research of different components of pin ball machines I have a full understanding of how the start button of a pin ball machine works.Starting with the button it self with its plastic casing with an LED inside over the button and just at the end there is a switch that activates everything inside of the machine turning on the Led's the score board and any other special components yet the very first thing it triggers is the vertical up kicker which fires through the ball trough where all the balls are kept and it kicks only one ball into play.
After further research of different components of pin ball machines I have a full understanding of how the launcher of a pin ball machine works. the launcher it self uses elastic force to launch the ball out and into play . The launcher has two main parts ,the rod and spring. The rod is the actual part thats hitting the ball and the spring builds up kinetic energy to put out a powerfull hit.
In onshape in class we created our target body and
In class today we created a cone with onshape and also learned a new tool called revolved
Today in class we created a pyramid type structure using onshape
After managing to fully operate one button using code from the arduino Today in class we revisited an old subject of combining code we did this to then attach the second button to the breadboard and wiring it as such after we combined the code we got the result of our game score going up by 55 each time either button was pressed My git hub link is
In class we created a figure on onshape using different tools like extrude, Mirror and Align
