I started running track in 6th grade, beginning with the 100-meter hurdles. Back then, I had no idea just how important the sport would become to me. As I moved into high school at Drew, I expanded my events to include the 400-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles, triple jump, long jump, and the 4x400 relay.
Each event challenged me in a different way, whether it was the endurance of the 400, the focus of jumping events, or the teamwork needed in a relay. Track has become more than just a sport for me. It’s been my outlet, a place I go when I need to clear my mind and let go of whatever I’m dealing with. Whether it's a stressful day or something weighing heavy on me, being on the track gives me peace and a sense of control.
Track has helped shape my discipline, my work ethic, and even my confidence. It’s been a big part of my high school experience, and I’m grateful for all the moments hard practices, big meets, and everything in between.
