Deeply Rooted PBL Projects

Deeply Rooted was a whole grade level project for 2nd quarter, which sought to answer how symbols can reflect cultural differences and similarities. We researched the use of symbols around the world and came up with our own symbols that reflect our modern lives. In Art class we created hand made Borax crystals which we used to make symbols. I chose to make a heart, which symbolizes Love throughout the world . Shaping and sizing my pipe cleaner for my crystal was difficult and next time I would like to make it more creative and possibly add more color contrast to make it noticeable in the PBL. On the day of the showcase, our work was featured alongside performances representing cultures around the world.

Unit 3

Columbian Exchange

In World History we have been learning about the Columbian Exchange. The Columbian exchange was a new to transfer in new food, plants, and other resources that were needed. the Columbian Exchange also made a big impact by increasing the population.  The linked google slides has pictures of a class project and pictures of us making a dish with the food that our hemisphere got from  the Columbian exchange.  We were assigned in groups and given a hemisphere and made a deish and presented our dish to the judges. This sums up my Project.
