The Deadly Picnic Case was a mock crime scene given to us to learn how to use different types of evidence. We also had to learn how to organize evidence into the category of either Trace evidence or Physical. These skills learned are used every time investigators are figuring out who committed crimes and what exactly happened.
The Atlanta child murders was the mass murder of 30 African American boys and girl from all ages from 1979-1981. It was unclear who was committing these crimes until the faithful day Wayne Williams was arrested shortly after dumping two bodies into a river on a bridge late night in the Atlanta area. Wayne wasn't convicted for all 30 murders however and justice has yet to be served for the families of those lost to these times. I believe he didn't commit all of the crimes but was definitely linked to them.
