In chemistry we have done multiple experiments so far dealing with some of the elements in the periodic table. To teach younger generations about the periodic table, we had a project to teach about our given group on the periodic table . My group was Alkali Metals. I learned that Alkali metals are very reactive, electropositive, monovalent metals forming strongly alkaline hydroxides. Alkali meals include the elements lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium, occupying Group IA of the periodic table. I had to learn about their color, weight, volume, and even where you can find my elements in my everyday life. We also ha to learn how to make stop motion films to bring our book to life. While creating the book there were many obstacles that delayed our productivity that ultimately caused my group to get smaller but that didn't stop us from our goal of making this audio book. I liked this project because i feel like i'm teaching others about things i learn in Chemistry.
We started off the year with Ms. Mayes telling us that we have to write a 60 page book by the end of the year. Even though this may seem hard it isn't so bad now that he had broken down the dues dates , having 5 pages due every other week and you got to decide what your wanted to write about. I decided to write my book about basketball, my book is a bio of the best 2 NBA players from every team and what i think about them. Basically I act as a sports writer/ analyses.
We had a assignment of using the given graph and finding its key features.
For the textile mini project, the task was to use one of the many techniques we learned to make colorful nets, coffee mug mats, and other things made of yarn. We learned multiple techniques like looming, netting, knitting, and knotting.
I am now on my 30th page of my book after multiple long nights of writing and researching. I changed the topic of my book after having conference with my ELA teacher. We decided that my book should be about the "Underdogs" in the league. The ones nobody know about, how hard their journey to the league was.
