A handful of students and staff come together to work on a BLM/Stronger Together mural that runs across the road in front of the Drew Charter School JA/SA campus. I was responsible for designing a fist that represents Asian American and Pacific Islanders. I was incredibly excited to work on this, as I am a Filipino student. Over the course of a couple weeks, I painted my design onto the pavement, amongst the many other designs. I’m proud of the result given the time we had to work. In my design, I included kimono patterns, the Great Wave, and koi fish for Japanese culture, henna designs for Indian culture, a Yin Yang symbol and a lantern for Chinese culture, sampaguita flowers and a sun for Filipino culture, and a bold “Stop Asian Hate.”
For this year's first PBL project, the class created a hero from an element and attached them to a UN goal. We then made trailers for our heroes.
Below is the animatic I made for my trailer.
