For our 2023 Fall Chorus concert, we sang the songs, "I Sing Because I'm Happy," "Lacrimosa Menuet," "Invisible," and "Heartbeat." For Georgia State University's Annual SingFest, we sang the song "I Sing Because I'm Happy," which was my favorite song from the chorus concert. It was the most upbeat song and thus made it very fun to sing. We even incorporated some choreography into the performance!
LGPE is a performance evaluation on two songs of varying difficulty, as well as a sight reading evaluation. For our LGPE performance, our choir sang two pieces, "O Lux Beatissima," as shown in the video, and "Cover Me With the Night." In "Cover Me With the Night," I was part of a trio part. When it was time to do the sight reading portion, we were satisfied with our score. LGPE scoring uses 1-5, 1 being the best, 5 being the worst. We ended up with a 1 on sightreading and 1's from all but one judge who scored 2. Though as a choir, we've sounded better, our performance that day was not bad at all, which I belive says something about our work ethic.Â
