One of the first decisions we made about the design was the use of elliptical fins, since research shows they're the best shape for a bottle. We cut the top off of one bottle and placed it where the bottom of another bottle would be. Finally, we added a cone to make the bottle more aerodynamic.
We manage to calculate the approximate flight path of the rocket by factoring in how long it was in the air and the height of the person calculating the angle. It went 24.12 ft in the air, and was in the air for 3 seconds.
It didn't go as high as we expected, although it was straight for a short period of time. I suspect it is due to the bottle being dented. Looking back, I would have made sure the fins were straight and add a more secure cone on the top.
