In this activity, I created slides about Cuba, focusing on its culture, history, and landmarks. I learned a lot about Cuba’s unique heritage, including its music, food, and political background. During this process, I had to use research and language skills to present the information clearly and effectively. I also practiced organizing my thoughts and summarizing key points in a way that was easy for others to understand. One challenge was finding reliable sources and condensing complex information into concise bullet points. Overall, this activity helped improve both my presentation and language skills while deepening my understanding of Cuban culture.

In this activity, I created a two-page recipe for arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) and tres leches cake which are both traditional Cuban dishes. Throughout the process, I used my linguistic skills to write accurate recipe instructions and convert measurements like cups, tablespoons, and teaspoons into their Spanish equivalents. One challenge I faced was not knowing some of the measurement terms in Spanish, but I overcame this by consulting our digital notebook for the correct translations. From this experience, I learned how to properly write and use measurements in Spanish which resulted in me improving my language skills and my ability to communicate cooking instructions effectively.

For this activity, I created a 12-page original Spanish storybook titled Monstruo marino y caballero. I wrote, illustrated, and narrated the entire book, which helped me practice multiple language skills, including writing, speaking, and reading comprehension in Spanish. Throughout the process, I learned how to tell a simple but complete story using past tense verbs and descriptive vocabulary. One challenge was making sure my grammar was accurate while keeping the story engaging and clear. Drawing the scenes also helped me connect the Spanish words to visual meaning, which improved my vocabulary retention. Overall, this project was a fun and creative way to practice Spanish and build confidence in using the language.
