The first piece that we played as a class was El Numero Uno by Jane Weidensaul. There were some techniques that I've never played before in this piece, such as pres de la table which means to play close to the sound board. I liked that this piece was a bit of a challenge.

This piece that we played was Uplift Your Voice from 2020 suite by Brandee Younger. When we first heard our teacher play this song, I lit up. It sounds like spring is hear and just made me happy. The composer of this piece Brandee Younger, was recently nominated in 2021 for a Grammy award for the category Beautiful is Black.
