Serving as a media correspondent for the Tour Championship was one of the most impactful experiences in my journey as a student and aspiring professional. During this opportunity, I had the honor of shadowing the infamous and inspiring Donald Suggs, a respected journalist whose presence and wisdom left a lasting impression on me. Throughout the day, we walked the golf course together, engaging in meaningful conversations while I gathered information to write about his career, experiences, and perspective on journalism. At the same time, he was learning about me — my goals, my interests, and my passion for storytelling — which ultimately led him to write a feature about me in The Atlanta Voice. This experience felt surreal and empowering, knowing that while I was learning from someone so accomplished, he also saw something worth highlighting in me. From observing his professionalism, curiosity, and ability to connect with people, I gained valuable insight into the world of broadcasting and media correspondence. His mentorship inspired me to seriously consider pursuing broadcasting in real life, whether in sports, news, or another media field. Spending the entire day on the course not only strengthened my confidence as a young journalist but also gave me wisdom, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of what it means to tell meaningful stories.
