I completed the one-pager by organizing key information from Period 2 (1607–1754) around the major APUSH themes like National Identity, Politics and Power, and Migration and Settlement. I included important vocabulary terms with visual emphasis and added colorful drawings, including a triangular trade diagram and a colonial map, to represent maps and graphs. I used purposeful colors and layout choices to separate ideas and make connections, and I made sure to fill the entire page neatly with accurate content and visuals that reflect the period’s major developments.
For my project, I created a photo collage using a raised fist template in Canva to represent the Black Power Movement. I filled the fist with images of important activists like Malcolm X, Angela Davis, and members of the Black Panther Party, as well as powerful moments like the 1968 Olympics protest. I also included quotes and photos from major demonstrations to show how the movement focused on racial pride, self-defense, and community empowerment. The collage is meant to highlight both the people and the actions that made the Black Power Movement so important in American history.
This poster explores major themes of the Gilded Age, a period of rapid change in America from the 1870s to 1900. Our project highlights key topics such as technological advances, immigration, politics, culture, and everyday life. It shows how industrialization fueled the nation’s growth, while also bringing serious challenges like poverty, poor working conditions, and political corruption. Through images and captions, we explain how different groups of people experienced and were impacted by this complex era.
For this project, I created a digital poster using Canva that highlights the Erie Canal as a key development during the Market Revolution. I started by using AI tools within Canva to generate a layout and select design elements like images and fonts, then customized everything to match my voice and research. I focused on the Erie Canal’s impact on transportation, trade, economic growth, and westward expansion. I explained how it connected the East Coast to the Midwest, helped New York City become an economic center, and influenced future infrastructure like highways and railroads. I also included a map and image to visually support my points. Finally, I discussed the unintended consequences, such as environmental damage and the displacement of Native American tribes, to give a more complete view of the Erie Canal’s impact.
For our Steps to the Revolution mini-poster, my group and I created a timeline showing the major events that led to the American Revolution in chronological order. We included all required terms—like the Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party, and Declaration of Independence—and explained how each event caused the next. We added seven colorful illustrations to make the poster engaging and help represent the events visually. I helped write the explanations, organize the layout, and draw some of the illustrations. This project helped me understand how tensions between Britain and the colonies grew over time and eventually led to independence.
