The Empower You conference is an opportunity for all literature students to chose a topic relating to modern day culture, whether it be pop culture or ethnic culture. The student would then draft a speech and revise it numerous times before publicly recited sed speech to an audience. Our speeches had to be between 5 and 10 minutes, and we had the option to work alongside someone. 

My Topic:

The topic I chose to focus on for my empowerment speech was how modern day philosophy connects to traditional spiritual practices, and how we utilize these practices in our everyday lives without even noticing.
