Calaya is a Pisces born February 22, 2007, and loves the color PINK! She loves spending her free time hanging out with her friends, having dinner with her family, laughing, and listening to her all-time FAVORITE artist J. Cole. Her most consistent hobby has been her dance career which she has been pursuing since the age of 5. She has a pet dog and wishes for one day to get a pet bunny rabbit!

Who is Calaya at Drew?

Calaya has been at Drew Charter for 14 years!!!!! (She is ready TO GO lol!) She has participated in her school's dance, team, cheer team, news program, all-girls mentoring, Chick-fil-A Leadership Club, and many more academic associations. She has an older brother, Caleb Carmichael, who also attended Drew and graduated in 2020. By her graduation, she plans to attend a 4-year HBCU and major in Mass Communication and minor in Journalism. After her many years of hard work and internships, she will become a news anchor! Her future career endeavor is driven by her love of public speaking, writing speeches, being in front of audiences, ELA, and storytelling.
