This Is sort of what i wanted it to function like but in the end I did not want to hot-glue anything to attach onto my desk
This is my original 3d model I designed myself in tinker-cad it is very close to the way my final product looks. I enjoy making my projects in 3d opposed to drawing on paper first as a 3d model can be printed and I can easily look at all aspects with a 3d model
This is my initial prototype it is not the same size as the final product and the final will be sturdier
This is my final design although similar to my prototype it does not hang on the side of my desk as cardboard cannot support the weight of my belongings. As you can see it holds most of the things on my desk quite well
First we have the prompt We have to build a desktop organizer that holds all of my things on my desk. For research I looked at pictures of desk organizers that were hanging or stuck to the desk itself. For my prototype I decided to add arms that hang off my desk, But I quickly realized that cardboard is not sturdy enough to hold my things. When I tested my prototype the cardboard arms bent and dropped my stuff all over the floor, So I decided to put it on top of my desk. The principles of design I used for My project are Line and Balance. I used Line because my organizer consists of many straight lines and No curved pieces. I chose Balance because of the symmetry of my design. My organizer utilizes shapes to make the structure more sound in example I used triangles as they are the strongest shape to stabilize platforms on my organizer. My biggest challenge was my procrastination, I kept telling myself I was going to do it the next day until it was almost due and I completed it in a rush. My Biggest success was making my organizer fit my belongings and making it stable enough to hold a heavy controller. The only thing I would change is I would find out a way to hang it on the wall so my desk is completely free for my mouse and keyboard
