for this we learned how to draw perspective and angles with charcoal. For the first one we had to look at people in a pose still. For the rest, we looked at an image and tried to recreate it.  Then we looked at apples and oranges. I got pretty good at the end. The thing I would change at the beginning is the outline.

I made a minimalist jewelry holder dish. This took 3 class periods to finish. I had to score the circles to the dish so they would stick. Ceramics contain a mixture of ionic and covalent bonds between atoms. The dish is crystalline, semi-crystalline, or vitreous. Amorphous materials with similar compositions are generally termed "glass". I think that the glaze was a bit patchy and I wish it was more opaque. I would next time use a different glaze.

Deeply Rooted was a whole grade PBL for 2nd quarter. How can symbols i.e. trees reflect cultural differences as well as cultural similarities?  We researched the use of symbols around the world and came up with our own symbols that reflect our modern lives. In Art class we created hand made paper and Borax crystals which we used to make symbols. I chose to make a heart tree, which symbolizes peace, structure, and family. I personally did not run into any issues with the paper. On the day of the showcase, our work was featured alongside performances representing cultures around the world.

The assignment for this was to create art based on based on one of the 6 principles of design. I chose emphasis/ dominance. A little bit deeper into the principle I used color and size.  I tried to make the little squiggles on the sky mostly the same size and one big one. I added the color in the background of the sky. The process of creating the art took a full class period. I think the final idea came out well. Next time I would use maybe color pencils instead of water color.
