The columbian exchange was a time period when Europeans came to America to build a “New World”, and while bringing stuff over that they thought they needed in order to grow and prosper they brought crops, animals diseases, and weapons, and took crops, animals and resources that America had back to Europe. For our project my group was part of the Western hemisphere, so we had to use food that originated over there. We made fries, chocolate covered fruits, and an avocado and tomato salad. It helped me understand the Columbian exchange better because I now know what foods came from which hemispheres.
