Epic Elements Elements Part 1
For this project my group was assigned metalloid, and each of did 2 or three elements in that group.
At first I was going to make a coaster but then I decided to make a Christmas card because its more interesting. This is related to chemistry because in order to make paper you have to cut the tree into wood chips, and then boil them in acid which relates to chemistry because it acts as a solvent to extract the cellulose which also demonstrates a chemical change. The principle of Design that I used was variety, because I added a variety of colors and and materials. I made the paper by cutting pieces of paper blending it with water and the extract the paper and then I braided string with a plastic bag to tie the sides together and then water color paint to draw the tree. I dislike how it takes to long for the paper to dry. Next time, I would try and make the paper look not so wrinkled. I learned that you can always make something out of nothing.
In visual art we had to use a molecule and form it into art. I used the molecule ammonia and incorporated it into my art. The circle on top represents nitrogen and then the other three circles represents the hydrogen. I made my art work very minimalistic but with a variety of color, and value. I added the thin lines in their to show the circles are connected and it made it look more abstract. I feel that people in the engineering field would use tinker cad as a way to make a model or rough draft of their designs.
In Geometry I am working on designing a piece of stained glass, and in World History we are learning about the history of stained glass in religious establishments. In geometry we are learning about the properties of the parallelogram, so my stain glass design includes different types of parallelograms such as rectangles, squares, and a rhombus. The properties of a parallelograms that I included are opposite sides are parallel, opposite sides are congruent, opposite angles are congruent, consecutive angles are supplementary supplementary and diagonals bisect each other. Below is my stain glass project.
For my project I played the color of the wind which was composed by Alan Menken
