During unit one we covered ancient civilization such as Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China while we covered these civilizations. I learned information such as, the different types of technology that they used and different methods they used such as a calendar, and different forms of weapons they made and the war tactics they had. We also learned about the history of each of them, such as the different Dynasty of China(for example the Zhou dynasty) and some of the philosophies(Such as Legalism) that they believed in. For Mesopotamia we learned how it is between the Tigris and Euhrates river and we also talked about Hammurabi's Code and how strict it was. For Egypt we learned about the different pharaohs and the different gods they believed such as ra(the sun god) and the reason for pyramids and how they believed in the afterlife and what they needed to take with them they also came up with the 365 days and 24/7 system. In India we talked about the Indus river valley and how they had a more peaceful lifestyle and there was little to no evidence of violence or war, and that some people believed that they were invaded and others believed that some disaster happened and they ended up dying off. We also had an ancient civilization mini project where we were able to experience what it would be like to build structures during ancient civilization time. In order to do that, we had to collect dirt and water, turn it into mud and then mold them into bricks.
Our PBL project is called Epic Elements and for this we have to create a superhero that connects to each of our subjects. It has to include an ancient civilization and a transformation. I also has to include an element from the periodic table, and then we have to write a story about it, and create an animation
