Dracut's grade five beginner band is a large ensemble of approximately 60-80 grade five students from all four elementary schools. The band performs in both a winter and a spring concert. This introductory program is designed for students to achieve the "5th–6th Grade Music Standards" as outlined in the newly updated "2019 Arts Curriculum Frameworks" developed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Band students will accomplish these standards through learning to play an instrument and performance in a large ensemble.
