North Carolina Opportunities

Project Learning Tree (PLT) is a national program that offers trainings both online and in person. Trainings are research-based, hands-on, and provide CEUs to both classroom teachers and teachers pursuing their EE certification! Activities will be primarily forest/ land based. For additional lessons see Project WET and Project WILD.

The NC EE calendar has events all year round. Learn about outdoor education opportunities around the state and get connected with both non-formal and formal educators doing this great work! Also check out their Listserv to receive weekly calendar updates and announcements.

Museum of Natural Sciences

NC Museum of Natural Sciences does a number of educator workshops taking teachers into the field. While they do workshops virtually and close to home, check out their Educator Treks and Educators of Excellence Institutes.
