Students are only eligible for the grade level they have applied for in the lottery. If it is discovered through the process of registration and records exchange that due to retention, mid-year promotion, or any other reason the child is not in the grade level they applied for, they no longer have a seat. Principals should work with data managers to ensure this policy is followed. Principals may ask parents of students enrolling with a homeschool transcript to provide documentation of the curriculum used, student work samples, and standardized test scores in the process of determining the proper grade level for the student.
