Marksmanship is a team where you learn air rifle safety and practice using paper targets on a 10-meter range. Cadets are able to earn a Varsity letter through competing at local, State, Regional, and National matches. Traveling can include in-state and out-of-state as well as virtual and in-person matches.
Marksmanship cadets alternate between three positions, prone, kneeling, and standing during practice. Their scores from each position are combined to determine their total score in a match.
Practices:
Monday: After school - 6:00 PM
Tuesdays: 6:15 - 8:00 AM and 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Wednesday: After school - 6:00 PM
Thursdays: 6:15 - 8:00 AM and After school - 6:00 PM
Marksmanship consists of two divisions: Sporter and Precision.
Sporter is for new cadets in marksmanship. They focus on the basics and work for their aim and learning different stances.
Precision is for the more advanced students and they focus on their aim as well as their schedule to stay persistent.
