Sophomore year in AVID continues with the skills from Freshman year and builds on them, as well as, works on timed writing, college writing prompts, writing paths (AVID strategies), presentations, SAT prep, interview skills, and test prep.

Sophomore year continues the skills from freshman year in AVID and then adds on new skills and starts to prepare students for the SAT and support them through some of the new AP and IB course work they are taking. These supports can include the tutorial process, study groups, advocating for more help with a teacher etc... working with each student to find what they need to be successful. We also continue to work on future planning and building the skills needed for the next step to their goals.
