Freshman year in AVID begins with organization skills, critical thinking skills, planning, goal setting, time management, study skills, reading and writing skills, presentation skills,  creating resumes, higher level questioning, note taking, some test prep, mindfulness, and advocating skills

Our goal during this year is to have students get to know each other and know they have a network of people that support them, as well as, preparing them for the rigorous courses they will take while at GW. We lay the foundation in the class and continue to build on it and with each step build a new college and life skill to help guide the path the student sets for themselves.
