Health Science Technology Education at Vista Academy is a secondary career education program for students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The program provides students with opportunities to explore a variety of health careers and make informed postsecondary and career choices. Using sound learning theory and leading-edge technology, the program prepares students for entry-level healthcare employment and provides the foundation for further training in advanced health services occupations.
Rebecca Dethman brings 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare to her classroom. She began her career as a direct care provider, became a Registered Nurse in 2008 and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Chamberlain University in 2016. Her clinical expertise encompasses a broad range of specialties, including psychiatric and emergency department nursing. Over the past decade, Ms. Dethman has demonstrated exemplary leadership and academic excellence in nursing education through her roles as Associate Dean, Program Director, and College Professor. She is deeply committed to cultivating inclusive educational environments and developing pathways that empower students to envision and achieve successful careers within the healthcare sector.
