September 2021, Events (DBCI)
The Tebo Train will be wrapping up a successful summer season on Friday, September 3rd. (*The train was out for repairs June 19 - July 4).
June 1 - August 19, we welcomed 2,567 passengers during its scheduled running times (Mondays - Fridays, 9:30 am - 11:00 am). Of those, 51% were City of Boulder residents, 13% were Boulder County residents, 9% were from the Denver Metro area, 3% were from other areas of Colorado and 24% were from out of state. It continues to be a very popular attraction for our local community and visitors.
Buffaloes of Boulder will be wrapping up Fall Fest weekend with the finale of an online auction already underway. 50% of proceeds will go to the artists or nonprofits who created the buffaloes and 50% of proceeds will go to DBCI. Don’t wait to bid on your favorite buffalo and support our local artists and DBCI!
Bands on the Bricks had a successful modified four-week long season. With consistently good crowds, the community was very much in favor of our expanded beer garden area and complimented the staff on a diverse band line-up. It’s not too late to purchase a 25th Anniversary commemorative poster by Denver area artist Latasha Dunston. Posters are $22. Contact Anna (anna@downtownboulder.org) if you’d like to purchase one.
Downtown Boulder Fall Fest is coming up Friday - Sunday, September 10 - 12, 2021. It will include live music, a variety of activities for kids/families, Firefly Handmade Market - and more.. In addition, we’ll herd our buffaloes together for one last look to promote our Buffaloes of Boulder auction.
We are in need of a small army of volunteers for Fall Fest - please visit the Volunteer Local sign-up page and join us for a fun weekend.
The DBCI Board’s Fundraising Strategy Committee is supporting staff in raising $100,000 to make the return of these events possible. As of August 24th, we have $91,450 in sponsorship and sponsorship commitments and donations of $4,067 (from Downtown Boulder Partnership member businesses and the community). Our 2021 Sponsorship Packet outlines our event sponsorship opportunities and staff has put together fundraising campaigns to Support DBCI Events and Initiatives. As we come together to rebuild and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, we humbly request that you join us in our efforts to bring back cherished events, and help us unite the community back in our beloved downtown. It will take all of us to get there: if you would like to help, please reach out to Anna Salim
