Purpose
The Public Space Enhancements Committee will brainstorm, prioritize and evaluate the benefits, feasibility and opportunity costs of various programs and to make recommendations on implementation strategies for long-term transformative infrastructure opportunities that meet various goals of revitalization, connection, refresh and more.
Type of Committee
The Public Space Enhancements Committee is a standing advisory committee to the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives Board of Directors.
Membership
The Public Space Enhancements Committee shall include at least two current members of the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives Board of Directors, at least one current member of both the Downtown Boulder Partnership and Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District Boards, and up to six additional members. Downtown Boulder CEO and Director of Operations will be Ex-Officio Members.
Purpose
The Membership Committee’s role is to support staff in cultivating new members and support and enrich the existing downtown Boulder membership community. The committee as a group shall conduct outreach, stay informed on current member numbers and needs of the broader membership and make recommendations to staff and the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board on changes and/or enhancements to the membership program.
Type of Committee
The Membership Committee is a special committee of the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board of Directors, serving as ambassadors from the organization to our members and potential members.
Membership
The Membership Committee shall include at least 4 current members of the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board of Directors. The Downtown Boulder Partnership Chair and Vice Chair are not considered part of the 4 current members and they may attend the committee meetings but are not voting members. The committee may also include up to 8 additional knowledgeable community members, who are current members of the Downtown Boulder Partnership. The Downtown Boulder Partnership will strive to ensure that committee members are from diverse segments of the community. The Downtown Boulder Partnership Board Chair shall appoint the committee members representing the board and annually the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board will be updated on committee membership. Additional members may be invited to the committee as appropriate by staff or other board members in consultation with one another. As committee members serve an ambassadorial function they must volunteer for Membership Appreciation Week (twice yearly) and assist staff in other member / potential member visits as requested when available.
Purpose
The Marketing Committee (the “Committee”) of the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) Board of Directors assists the BID staff in overseeing the district’s overall strategic direction in the areas of marketing, branding and communications. Specifically, the Committee shall provide support and feedback for overall comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the business improvement district; partner with staff to offer feedback on a consistent and active communication/marketing strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of program messaging, advertising, awareness and branding.
Type of Committee
The Committee is a standing advisory committee to the BID Board of Directors.
Membership
The Committee shall consist of at least one member of the BID Board of Directors as determined from time to time by the Board of Directors. In addition, a representative from the City of Boulder Department of Community Vitality and The Boulder Convention & Visitors Bureau will serve on the committee. The remaining seats on the committee will be filled with representatives from the business community – ideally with at least one representative from retail, restaurant and second story business, as well as at least one representative from the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board of Directors. Committee members will be asked to commit to a two-year time frame. Membership will be capped at 20. The Chairperson will keep a running list of interested individuals and new Members will be invited as term limits expire.
Purpose
The Events Committee’s role is to support the Downtown Boulder programming and events team with the execution of the organization’s public community events and support post event analysis to ensure our events are achieving the organization’s vision and mission.
Type of Committee
The Events Committee is a special committee of Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives, serving as volunteer support staff for event planning, execution and analysis.
Membership
The Events Committee shall include at least two current members of the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives Board of Directors, including the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives Vice Chair, and at least one member of Downtown Boulder Partnership Board of Directors. The committee shall have at least 3, but no more than 5 members.
Chairperson
The Events Committee Chair will be appointed by the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives Board Chair. The Committee Chair is responsible for coordinating tasks for all annual events and programs with the VP of Operations & Programming. The Events Committee Chair will also provide post event reports and recommendations for future events to the Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives Board of Directors on behalf of the committee and staff.
Delegation of Authority
The Events Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity to the DBCI Board of Directors and the VP of Operations & Programming, as well as in a support capacity to staff. The Events Committee does not have the authority to make changes to the events and programming of the organization without the DBCI Board of Directors approval.
Standard Committee Procedures
The Events Committee will meet quarterly with the events and programming team and volunteer time for events and post-event data analysis as needed.
Minutes
Minutes will be captured for Events Committee meetings. Minutes will reflect meeting date, venue, attendance, meeting summary, and next meeting date (if applicable).
Formalities
Draft charter to be approved by the DBCI Board of Directors.

Purpose
The Public Policy Committee shall stay informed about civic and broader community issues that affect the downtown Boulder community and the nature of doing business in downtown Boulder. The Committee as a group shall discuss and make recommendations to the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board on policy positions, communications and actions when deemed appropriate.
Type of Committee
The Public Policy Committee is a standing advisory committee of the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board of Directors.
Membership
The Public Policy Committee shall include at least 5 current members of the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board of Directors. The current members include the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board Chair and Vice Chair as members of the committee. The committee may also include up to 15 additional knowledgeable community members. The Downtown Boulder Partnership will strive to ensure that committee members are from diverse representation from the community. The Downtown Boulder Partnership Chair with the advice of the committee may also designate up to 10 “Emeritus Members” as advisors to the committee. The Downtown Boulder Partnership Board Chair shall appoint the committee members and annually the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board will be updated on committee membership. All non-emeritus committee members are required to attend at least 6 meetings a year unless there are extraordinary circumstances as assessed by the Downtown Boulder Partnership Board
Purpose
The Operations Committee’s intent is to connect the different organizations that keep Downtown Boulder clean, safe, and vibrant. The Committee members update each other on current and upcoming projects, relevant issues, and how to best collaborate to assist one another.

Operations Committee is a standing advisory committee of the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID) Board of Directors.
Membership
The Operations Committee is an advisory committee composed of the Operational Leads of the BID, Parks and Recreation, and Community Vitality. Downtown property owners and other stakeholders from the Business Improvement District are welcome to attend.

Purpose
Each Board will form a nominations committee before September. The committee members initially meet jointly to discuss board candidates and review nominations. Once candidates are identified for respective boards, the nomination committees will conduct outreach and interviews and ultimately make recommendations to their Boards. The Nominations Committees will also recommend officers, and the DBP Committee will make recommendations for Awards recipients
Type of Committee
The Nominations Committees are ad hoc advisory committees to all three governing boards.
Membership
The Nominations Committees are chaired by the Vice President of each Board. The Committee should be made up of board members, and the DBP requires one non-board member
