This term, in our project we will be learning about the different countries around the world from the story 'Around the World in 80 days'. During this project, the children will be learning about human and physical features of the countries. Furthermore, the children will be investigate maps using both longitude and latitude to locate cities and countries as well as explaining why the location of the country has an impact on its climate. In science, we will be looking at Animals (Including Humans), focusing on habitats and the functions of the skeleton. In RE we will be looking at Sikhism and Christianity, in particular focusing on places of worship and the holy book.

Dreams and Goals & Healthy Me
Our JIGSAW Puzzle piece for PSHE this half term is ‘Dreams and Goals’. We will learn about hopes and dreams, dealing with disappointment and how to overcome this. The children will be learning about setting new and realistics dreams and goals that can be achieved. Furthermore, the children will have opportunities to work in groups celebrating the contributions of others. All of the skills learnt, will enable the children to become resilient and have positive attitudes when dealing with all types of scenarios.
After half term our Puzzle piece is ‘Healthy Me’. In this piece we look at creating healthy friendships and good group dynamics. In addition to this, the children will be looking at current issues regarding peer pressure around alcohol and drugs. The children will be focusing on how to improve their assertiveness and celebrating their inner strength to make their own independent decisions.
