Year A Summer Term
1900s- 1950s Knowledge Organiser Down Hall Primary School.pdfThis term, in our project we will be learning about the Britain during the 1900s-1950s. We will be focusing on how life was much different for children during this time, focusing on entertainment, education and hobbies. We will also cover key points from WW1 and WW2 which had a great impact on the lives of people back in Britain. In science, we will be looking at Electricity. In RE we will be looking at Hinduism and Judaism.
Here are some of the articles we will be covering in our lessons:
RRS Article 31 - Children have the right to relax and play, and to join in a wide range of cultural, artistic and other recreational activities
RRS Article 15 - Every child has the right to meet with other children and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.

Relationship & Changing Me
Our JIGSAW Puzzle piece for PSHE this half term is ‘Relationships’. We will learn about recognising how people are feeling when they miss a special person or animal. The children will also be learning ways that might help them manage their feelings when missing a special person or animal.
After half term our Puzzle piece is ‘Changing Me’. In this piece we will be summarising the changes that happen to boys’ and girls’ bodies that prepare them for making a baby when they are older. Furthermore, the children will be able to explain some of the choices they might make in the future and some of the choices that they have no control over.
