Year A Spring Term
Shang Dynasty Knowledge Organiser.pdfThis term, in our project we will be learning about the Shang Dynasty and modern day China. We will be focusing on the class system and the role this played during the Shang Dynasty as well as features of China. In science, we will be looking at Plants and Digestive system in Humans. In RE we will be looking at Buddhism and Christianity.
Here are some of the articles we will be covering in our lessons:
RRS Article 6- Every child has the right to life. Governments must do all they can to ensure that children survive and grow up healthy.
RRS Article 12- Every child has the right to say what they think in all matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously.
RRS Article 15- Every child has the right to meet with other children and young people and to join groups and organisations, as long as their does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.
RRS 29- Every child should respect and learn about other cultures.

Dreams and Goals & Healthy Me
Our JIGSAW Puzzle piece for PSHE this half term is ‘Dreams and Goals’. We will learn about hopes and dreams, dealing with disappointment and how to overcome this. The children will be learning about setting new and realistic dreams and goals that can be achieved. Furthermore, the children will have opportunities to work in groups celebrating the contributions of others. All of the skills learnt, will enable the children to become resilient and have positive attitudes when dealing with all types of scenarios.
After half term our Puzzle piece is ‘Healthy Me’. In this piece we look at creating healthy friendships and good group dynamics. In addition to this, the children will be looking at current issues regarding peer pressure around alcohol and drugs. The children will be focusing on how to improve their assertiveness and celebrating their inner strength to make their own independent decisions.
