Cameras are a crucial resource used by CCN, for showcases and events. Camera Operators must be familiar with the resource and be capable to perform all tasks with confidence and care.
The camera used for recording stories or anywhere other than the studio or showcases is the Panasonic AG-AC90, a semi - professional high standard camera, which has many buttons and switches which allows for the camera to switch modes. The camera has two main functions allows for the camera to record and to output video, they also have the function to take photos. The three rings on the front of camera are the focus (front ring), zoom (middle ring) and the Iris (back ring). The focus is the blur in the image, turning the dial (what ever way) to adjust focus for the image front, and the opposite to bur the image out again. The zoom is basically how every other camera works, the camera has three switches to zoom in and out, one on the front lens of the camera, one on the top of the camera, and one on the side where you hold it. The iris is the final ring on the camera that adjust the light in the video.
When you first get the camera you need to make sure that the you have both SD cards in, if not tell MR Kilpatrick ASAP. Once checked place a battery in (batteries located on the top shelf in the blue cupboard ) and flick the switch beside the battery slot to the play symbol with a rectangle around it. Once there check what footage is on flick the switch up and wait for the SD card number to appear and how much time it has left, if no footage or very little footage available, change the cards around and if both have no space then talk to Mr Kilpatrick.
Once SD cards are checked go to the top of the camera near where the external microphone to the four switches and make sure that input 2 is turned to on side and to MIC, so that it takes sound through the external mic. Then go to the dials and switches panel at the back of the camera (Image below) and makes sure the dials are all to the back and the switches are all on input 2
To set up the camera you need to first make sure that you have the following things:
Tripod (Need Training Before Use)
BM Studio 4k Camera
2 x SDI Cables
