and Speakers
Here at CCN we have two audio boards. We have a Behringer XR18, and a PreSonus 4 Channel Audio Interface.
The XR18 is a digital mixer meaning we control everything that happen from a laptop. We can control EQ, Compressors, Dynamics, Filters, Effects as well as many other features. We use this with our portable kit.
Here are some descriptions of the different features.
HPF (High Pass Filter) - HPF will provide a nice and clean voice. Hpf will reduce the background noise.
Gates - A Gate works by opening the gate when loud noises come through. It then closes it when the loud noise stops. Usually it is used on voice (e.g. When someone talks, it allows for less background noise). The next is the compressor. The compressor allows you to boost quieter sounds in the audio and turn down loud ones. It creates a more equal sound.
EQ - EQ is used to help make the voice sound clean. It lets you take out and add different frequencies to make the voice better to listen too.
Effects - We can add things like reverb and different amps for instruments. There are heaps of different effects we can use and customise for each different input.
The PreSonus Audio Interface is similar in that it too is a digital mixer. We use another computer to control everything in it. This has less control over effects, eq and filters. We use this on our showcase control desk.
