• Welcome to our mountain home. We enjoy sharing it with others who have a love of nature and will treat it like it’s their own. We want to welcome you back.
• While we love animals, we do not allow pets due to so many guests' allergies and the joy of wildlife nearby is best viewed without dogs chasing them.
• We do not allow smoking, fires or fireworks due to the high fire danger. IF staying 6 nights or more and indoor fire has been approved, read the step-by-step directions.
• We do not allow hunting.
• Keep ALL FOOD indoors, sealed & put away to prevent unwanted guests. Bears have been seen on the deck only once, when we left an apple outside.
• Please pick up after yourselves, conserve & use water only as needed, clean up spills,
• HOUSEKEEPING: If our home does not meet with your cleanliness expectations or appears damaged in any way when you arrive for your stay, please notify us immediately so that we can remedy it. We clean upon check-out but do not provide daily housekeeping services.
• SAFETY AND SECURITY: The Chalk Creek (South of cabin), our seasonal stream (East of the cabin) and other potentially dangerous terrain (e.g. the Chalk Cliffs, drop-offs, loose rocks, and surfaces which can be slick when wet or icy such as the Trex deck) exist. Our geographic area (even in town) is home to wild animals. Winter weather conditions can also create hazardous conditions, including icy walkways and slippery road surfaces. We will shovel deck and plow before you come. Unless the conditions change dramatically, you are responsible for the upkeep during your stay.

Symptoms of altitude sickness include: insomnia, constipation, headache, nausea. If these symptoms persists, begin with more water and even try headache medicine. If that doesn’t help, get to a lower altitude. Our sun is INTENSE. Wear hats, glasses, long sleeves, sunscreen. There are ticks in the Spring so check your clothing, hair and each other before coming in when you have been hiking or anywhere near trees/brush. Tick repellant is advised.
