We hope you will enjoy our cozy log cabin located in Nathrop, CO at the foot of Mt. Princeton and the Chalk Cliffs, 3 miles West of Mt. Princeton Resort, 8 miles before St. Elmo.
PLEASE no smoking and no pets (unless special permission has been given for use of The Antero Garden Inn where small well behaved dogs or cats may be allowed). At least one adult (over 21) must be staying and responsible. Cellular phones do not work at the cabin. We have a land phone, 719-395-2145 but it cannot make long distance calls (front range) without a calling card. Instructions are in the three ring binder & posted by the phone.
We have: Propane heating and modern electricity, modern plumbing, wood burning stove (USE restricted to 5 night stays or longer as it gets to hot to clean between shorter stays).
Beds: 2 queen beds, 1 queen sized futon.
Bedding for all of the above & towels (bring their own bedding/towels for a reduced cleaning fee).
Septic system-only toilet paper in toilet please, all else in garbage. No garbage disposal so please wipe plates into garbage before washing dishes.
Pots, pans, plates, utensils, hot water kettle, muffin tin, bread pan, cookie sheet, griddle, coffee pot, wok, conventional oven, refrigerator, toaster, hand mixer, picnic tables, gas grill, one room humidifier, fireplace, toys, stereo with tape deck and CD player, itty bitty TV with bluray but no cable. No dishwasher upstairs (The Inn does have a dishwasher).
We do have basic spices, TP, paper towels, dishes/glasses/utensils for 8, some tea/coffee, plastic bags. There is always a chance these things may run out so it is suggested you bring back up supplies.
Deck living: two picnic tables, 6 plastic Adirondack chairs, hammock for two, air chair, giant umbrella (NEVER leave it open when not in use), propane fire pit, gas grill, and there is room for group exercise/yoga.
Suggestions: Slippers (wood floors), bathing suits (Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, Cottonwood Hot Springs, Salida Hot Springs, or Joyful Journey), flip flops, sun screen, tick/bug spray, etc. If you use up or break anything, please let us know (&/or replace it).
Cautions: Check yourself for ticks before coming into the cabin (Spring especially). Bring closed toed shoes as the area is full of cactus. Also, be careful with garbage and do not leave food on the deck as there are bears, coyote, mountain lions in the area. Deer mice in the area carry Hunta disease.
