Mt. Princeton Hot Springs has very good food, a full bar, beautiful outdoor seating. They get busy so don’t be in a hurry. There’s also a general store where they have sandwiches and a deck for enjoying a picnic.
House Rock Kitchen (South side of street, East of the Roastery) is our newest, with a variety of fresh, organic and vegetarian dishes including great pulled pork, creative salads, & ethnic rice or quinoa bowls. http://www.houserockkitchen.com/. Outdoor seating, fire pit, full bar.
Inside The Trailhead Outdoor store (former State Hwy Building) is a great soup, salad, pasta, fabulous burgers on pretzel buns, homemade bread AND self-serve yogurt place called Simple Eatery, Spoon It Up: http://www.spoon-it-up.com/
BV Roastery - Across the street from The Trailhead has excellent coffee and delicious artisan cappuccino. Great place to just hang out. http://bvroastery.com/. Farmer’s Market is held in front of The Roasery Sunday mornings.
Midland Station – at Railroad & East Main: crepes, paninis, gelato, coffee. SO good. Only open for breakfast and lunch.
Deerhammer whiskey distillery is worth a visit. They give tastings and their whiskey is great but I think their Gin is fantastic, even if you don't like Gin. From the one light in Buena Vista, go East 2-3 blocks, it's on the right. Outdoor music in the summer is terrific. Next to CKS kayak supply: http://www.deerhammer.com/. Often have live music and there’s an outdoor ping pong table.
Louie’s Ice Cream – high quality delicious scoop ice which you can enjoy on their awesome patio along with a game of corn hole.
Push and Pull - Authentic Belgium waffles with amazing espresso drinks.
Eddyline - http://eddylinebrewing.com/ has a two places. The full restaurant (burgers, craft beers, wood oven pizzas, pasta, quinoa, salad etc.) is near the Arkansas River in a part of town called South Main.
If you go to the Eddyline in South Main (from the one stoplight in town go east and turn right at the 2nd stop SIGN - follow the brown info. sign that says SOUTH MAIN. Be sure to take a walk along the Arkansas River while there!!! Live music often at Eddyline AND “The Beach” in the summer.
If you miss the turn for South Main and the Eddyline and end up going straight, you will dead end into River Park. There is a bridge here crossing the Arkansas and a great hike up the BLM land on the east side of the river called the Barbara Whipple trail.
Midland Stop – great coffee AND gelato. Across the corner from the Eddyline. In the summer, there are food carts and many festivities to take place at the park here call The Beach.
Also across the street is a great gift shop called Sundance with sheep skin products made locally, nice jewelry, nice stuff. And if you enjoy art, a local artist has Rock Run gallery a block away from the Eddyline.
Brown Dog Coffee: Great soups, sandwiches, quiche, salads, pastries, & of course coffee & teas,: 713 US Hwy 24, South of the stop light, East side of street: http://browndogcoffee.com/
Quincy's is a great choice for a hearty meal (East side of US Hwy 24, just North of Brown Dog) for their steaks including prime rib or other steaks, depending on the night.
Our favorite Mexican is Casa Sanchez which is on highway 24 just South of the City Market on the West side of the street.
