Communication is giving, receiving or exchanging ideas, information, signals or messages through appropriate media, enabling individuals or groups to persuade, to seek information, to give information or to express emotions. There are four main types of communication we use on a daily basis: verbal, nonverbal, written and visual. In this day and age verbal communication is a lost art and that is why it is so important to work on it in the classroom.
