DU's performance review process has changed. Please see more information below:
In past review cycles, supervisors accessed employees' self-assessments before completing their evaluations. While this method offered supervisors insights from employees ahead of time, we want to encourage a more independent assessment approach that will provide more genuine and valuable feedback for everyone involved.
The performance review process should follow the steps below:
Independent Assessments: Both employees and supervisors will complete their respective assessments independently without viewing each other's input beforehand.
Submission: Both parties will submit their completed reviews through Paycom.
Discussion Meeting: Following submission, employees and supervisors will meet to discuss both assessments, identifying areas of alignment and any disparities in perception.
Honest Feedback Exchange: These meetings will serve as a platform for open, constructive dialogue about performance, achievements, and areas for growth. This meeting will also be useful to establish where support is needed.
This revised approach aligns with industry best practices and offers several advantages:
Promotes unbiased, independent reflection from both perspectives
Encourages more authentic assessments without the influence of the other party's views
Creates opportunities for meaningful discussions about different perceptions
Fosters a culture of transparency and honest feedback
