Para to Teacher Opportunities
You’ve impacted students through assisting in a classroom, and now you want your own. We’re ready to walk beside you on your path to teacher certification. Did you know that a major benefit of pursuing your teacher certification while working full-time as a paraprofessional is that your years of service as a paraprofessional will count towards teacher retirement benefits?
Visit Teach in the Peach for more information.
The Georgia Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy (GaTAPP) is an alternative pathway for individuals to seek certification. It is primarily designed for individuals who wish to transition into teaching from another career path, did not complete a teacher education program, have never held a clear, renewable teaching certificate, and have secured a teaching position with a Georgia accredited school system.
This program is available through most RESAs across the state. Click here to learn more about the program at Southwest RESA.
