DESCRIPTION

The monument ,inagurated in the year 2005, is in "via delle Fornaci" near the house where De Gasperi lived in the post war period, and it is near San Peter's church.

This monument reminds vs what Alcide De Gasperi did: the defense of the liberty, his courage to against the fascist regime and his pro-european thinking that inspired the foreign politics at the end of the 1940s. This work represents the birth place of the famous politician, in other words, a piece of the Valley of his native land, " Trentino". On the monument's perimeter there Is a quote of De Gasperi about the Europe.

“The european man has to accept the experiences of other people, to learn to live in the a larger comunity where he will know how to defend his own, but also other people's liberty. The tolerance and the fraternity, that translated in works of Justice and peace on the social and International level, Will give us the licence of the Citizens of Europe. Love is called social fraternity, it needs the spirt of sacrifice in the service of community.”
